New user and new owner!

Howdy everyone. I've been lurking in the forums for a week or so as I've been considering buying a new vehicle. Lots of great info here, thanks for that.

I went to the dealership today for my first test drive of an X5 3.0i and walked out with an agreement in place to buy the car! Yikes. Have I made a huge mistake? heh heh. I think the monetary impact is just a little daunting right now and I am worried I made too much of an impulse buy but the car had everything I wanted including navigation which I thought were all gone at this point in 06's. When the salesman agreed to sell it to me at invoice I couldn't turn back! I was actually very impressed with the sales staff there - virtually no hard sell and very courteous. It was the first time I've talked to a car salesman without wanting a shower afterwords.

Well, now I'm just waiting for my financing check to arrive so I can go down and sign the papers. My first objective will be to hook up XM. I have read that the kits discussed on the forum don't work with navigation so I may have to use my little Sony plug-n-play XM unit with the auxiliary port. Has anyone done an install like this, possibly mounting in the ashtray or center console?

Thanks
Dave

From my previous post

"I recently got the Sportcaster for $38 (brand new including tax/shipping off pricegrabber). It has an FM tuner and remote control and I glued it on using 3M pads. It's powered by the flashlight charger (it turns off when the car is turned off). The 2 wires can be eyes sores but I'm gonna switch to sirius soon... you can't see the wires at night and it's amber like the beemer dials "

Thanks Blk03X5...hope I never have to use it....I think I'd give them the keys and run instead. I always have the extended immobilzer on so they couldn't start it if it's parked
