Exclamation Items replaced under warranty

My dad got the following items replaced under warranty today.
New Instrument Cluster
Two new front seat belts, as the previous ones were slow to recoil back in
New set of side steps as the originals corroded badly
2 New rear hydro mounts not sure what they?
New bluetooth module as the original one was playing up
His warranty runs out on the 12 Dec but he's going to renew it.

On MY 4.6 I'm currently pushing for a new instrument cluster, as a few pixels are staring to go. Only problem is I dont have warranty so its quite a big issue here that BMW will NOT replace the cluster under good will, unlike you guys in the states, where I have read that BMW are quite good at replacing the cluster as its such a common fault.
I wrote to BMW Customer head quarters about the problem and received the following reply which, could be promising as I now just have to show my local dealer the letter and cluster problem and hope they will replace it. Its quite strange too as my 4.6 has only 14k and the pixels are starting to go where as my dads 4.6 has 45k and the pixels only starting to go on his last week.
Here is what BMW wrote back to me.

Dear Sudesh,

Thank you for your subsequent e-mail. I am sorry to learn of the faults you have experienced with your BMW X5's Instrument Cluster.

BMW will occasionally offer a goodwill gesture to assist with the cost of repairs if it can be attributed to a manufacturing defect and this is at BMW UK's discretion. All goodwill requests are processed via our network of approved dealerships, who will need to submit a report to BMW UK for our consideration. I would suggest that you speak with your local dealership to arrange a suitable time for them to inspect your vehicle. Once they have inspected your vehicle, they will be in a better position to advise if they feel it appropriate to submit a claim to us.

In closing, I am sorry that you have had cause to contact us under these circumstances and trust that your local dealership will be able to address your concerns.

Regards

BMW Group UK

It was actually my idea to get the things done now and pick out as many faults, small or large that I could see!! So hopefully I can get the cluster replaced now too as, my cousin also sent his 4.6 into the same dealer and got his seat belts and cluster replaced under warranty!! So guys if you have a warranty use it to get what you can free because when they run out it can be a costly business.
