X5 3.0 Diesel rear silencers mods

I realize that most of you in the USA have petrol driven X5s but incase
anyone interested,I am currently working on a project to install either the 4.4 rear quad exhaust trims or the 4.6is rear double trims on my Diesel X5.The problem with my rear silencers is the lack of space as they are not of the "straight through" design like the other petrol X5s.The exit pipe comes from the rear of the silencer where it goes thru a loop and then points downwards so as to prevent the black smoke from bothering the following driver under hard acceleration. It seems that the only solution to have 4.4
or 4.6is look alike rear trims is to install straight through silencers and then weld on the preferred exhaust trims.A bit like the Supersprint and Remus rear silencers available for my car (+1,200 euros!!!),except I prefer the oem
look with no engraving on the trims.Once I finished I will post some pictures
with installation notes. This will be my contribution to X5 World since you have
helped me a lot with other articles, including the fitting of the 4.6is front and rear spoilers.

I was planning to install the 4.6is silencers on my 3.0d. I'll be watching closely

Before you buy REMUS ,note that people who have them fitted on 3.0D,
complain that the end pipe trims point upwards and direct all black smoke
onto your rear end!!!!!This is the only feedback I managed to get from a n X5
3.0d owner who ordered the Remus before seeing it on a car !!!!

see pic of X5 3.0D with the REMUS showing the end tailpipes pointing
upwards! The owner of the car reported that although the car feels"livelier"
with the Remus,it blows black smoke onto the rear and he is going to cut
the exsiting Remus tailpipes and weld on the 4.4 retrofit trims, which are
slanted and direct the smoke more towards the bottom of the car.
