Adding coolant, question.

When adding coolant on the X, do you add coolant when the engine is running like you do on other cars, or with the engine off?? thanx.

Add coolant, into the plastic res., when motor is stone cold,
just like any other car.

Fill carefully to make the float bobber rise to the proper mark:
top of bobber about even or slightly above, edge of fill neck.

Hope you haven't filled other cars, while hot.

I've always done an "add" with engine off,
other than when doing a drain/flush/fill
trying to chase the inevitable air pockets.

My coolant keeps coming out of the reservoir, wtf.....for some reason it spills out of the reservoir's sides and out of one of the main hoses ,it comes out right where it attaches to the reservoir.....I have filled it about 4 times with the stick just above then neck and then once it gets hot or if I drive a few miles it spills out and sprays the side of my eng.

When do you bleed the system, when the engine is running hot?

The reservoir was replaced before due to a TSB, that was two years ago, wonder if it's still under warranty.

Hal,
From memory, porosity in the reservoir and/or
filler neck is potential prob.

I'd lean on Stlr that did the work; something
is amiss, or same prob. is back. One of the
hoses sounds suspect, too but they may not
cover that. Gotta get it fixed...
