Help me pick RIMS..Yes or No ?
I was looking @ these TSW Laguna wheels....
5x120..........285/45/20 on the fronts & 295/45/20 on the backs.... I live in NYC so I cant get any skinnier than 45's maybe you guys can tell me if I have the wrong sizes for the fronts & backs...do I need spacers?....what's the offset? I do not want to order the wrong wheel...let me know your opinion..... What tire to get? Let me know if im making a mistake....

It's a nice style but 20s in that style will make them look like 18s because of the lip design.

lol, they are nice but I have to agree that they might look smaller than they really are.
Dont worry. I am not going to get wheels until the spring/summer. For now I have the same wheels (stock) as the user above me in his signature. When I do get wheels I will probably get these: http://cgi.ebay.com/AFS-BMW-New-Chro...em230051674034 main reason is the price. Id love to see pics of X5s with custom wheels other than factory style. I havent seen many around. If I did I would possibly get an idea of how other styles would look on the X5. |

Nicely looking wheel. But as Jay said, because of the deep dish that wheel on the car will look smaller than 20". To be close to the oem wheels offset, you will need ET 45 front and ET30 rear but you will get way with other offsets! This is also related to what size tyres you will be getting!Let us know the Offsets of this wheel and we can advise you further. Regarding the tyres,You cannot have different height tyres on the front and rear!295/45 has a larger diametre than 285/45.Also these tyres that you mentioned will make you car ride much higher than your oem tyres and will give you speedo error and as they are between 28-35mm over the oem rolling diameter! Oem 20" tyre set up,as you may know is 275/40 front and 315/35 rear, which as you say is too thin for your NYC area.In this case, you will find that the 295/40 is is adequate for your needs as some of the members here with similar road conditions also use it. Have a look at this thread where a member has 295/45 fitted. http://www.xoutpost.com/lounge/22865-...95-45-20s.html Last edited by powers1; 11-17-2006 at 07:26 AM. |

hey antonnyc...everyone here will either like it or they won't ... it really depends and falls on you. you chose this rim because i'm sure you like it.
i know you're just looking for confirmation from other members here and opinions are always good to keep in mind but no matter what we say ... what matters most is what you decide at the end of the day good luck in deciding and definitely, i know most members will agree...POST SOME PICS on your new rims whatever you decide to get!
