Not sure what you mean. Do you mean the Traffic management channel (TMC) that comes up on the nav. That is in the nav system. It picks up the messages (same as trafficmaster) from the carrier from the radio. I think it is classic fm. I was told if classic fm was not on the list of preferred stations then the nav will not pick up TMC messages (not sure if that is true the Dealer told me though?). You do not need to be listening to it. Hope that helps

The traffic master unit is located under the spare wheel/suspension compressor and is wedged between the radio module and battery.
For a BMW fitted part, its a bit of a bodge! Quote:
