Lift Gate Not Unlatching Completely

Hey, it's me again with another problem. I'm still trying to figure out the creaky/squeaky seat issue but in the mean time I have another question...

My lift gate has issues unlatching. When I use the remote option it cycles 2 - 3 time but stays latched. I've had the dealer look at it twice. They replaced the mechanism on the tail gate (lower door). And I replaced both rubber stoppers on each side. I'm still having issues. For a temporary fix, I would just adjust the stoppers out to put more pressure on the lift gate (upper door), but that only seams to work for a while. The new rubber stoppers appear to be deforming to the point where the hex screws are starting to "eat" into the stoppers on the lift gate. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is replacing the latch mechanism on the lift gate.

Any help would be great!

Thanks
