Question Steamy/Misty windows

Anyone else got this problem? Just recently I notice that everytime I stop the X and get out and leave it for 10mins or so the rear from the passanger compartment back steams up badly. Cant find any rain getting in, windows are closed correctly so a bit lost on this one??

Has it been especially rainy and humid where you are lately? Unless you have some moisture inside your car, it's probably just from high humidity. If you turn on your AC (regardless of what temp you use) while driving around, that will keep the air in the vehicle dry and prevent the fogging. I would also recommend checking in your spare tire well for water - I hear some folks have had some leaking problems around that area, but I forget exactly what the fix is. You may want to try a search for it...

Hi Jay!

Yeah its been raining quite heavely here. I have checked the spare wheel well a few times, but cant see anything or any signs of water entering. I dont have the A/C on, I never really use it at all, but will start using it if I cant find the problem to see if it helps.

Also, make sure that you do don't have the "recirc" turned on otherwise you will be trapping condensation inside the car. It's important that fresh air is coming in and that air is being exhanged.

If you have no leaks, the AC trick should work wonders. I don't even use the defroster button (windshield) because it's so loud. I use the 3 buttons on the left instead to direct the air where I want it. In this case, I'd suggest using at least the top two (windshield & face), turn the AC on, and put the fan on fairly high for a couple of minutes. Once the condensation clears up, just set the controls where you want them and leave the AC on and you should be all set...

Thanks Jay!! Going to have one final check in the wheel well and around the rear hatch. If thats all clear then I'm going to run with your idea.
