It is fairly easy to do. Use a small screwdriver to pry open the rubber covers on the back side of the rails. Then find the proper size Torx-head bit (I think it's a #35) and unscrew the bolts. Make sure to protect the surrounding area with a rag to avoid scratches. Search the forum for the roof rail delete mod. for more details, pics., and how to fill in the mounting holes too.
