Brakes started to squeal (axxis pads). Help...

On Friday (after 1 day of heavy rain here in NorthEast), I noticed a brake squeal while braking from 40mph to zero. It appears coming from the left side. Not sure if front of back but i am leaning toward the back wheel.

The problem is that it's sporadic.. Maybe 10-20% of the time. I checked the pads and they seems like new (at least 8mm each).. Keep in mind that they are Axxis Dustless Pads that I had installed maybe 6-7 thousand miles ago. I am further puzzled by the sound. It's not really a squeal, but more of a metal on metal grinding squeeking sound... It's hard to explain...

any ideas?

I am having the same problem with my X5, I got squeaks at low speed, rolling movement. I also installed them 6-7K miles ago. First squeak I ever got. I could not see a scracth or any lines on the rotors. But since I have not heard any squeaks. I aslo have Axxis plus pads.

I have had some brake squealing the last few days, and I have noticed lines on my rotors. Is this a bad thing? What needs to be done, because I am taking a roadtrip this weekend, and I do not wnat to have any problems with my car. Thanks

If the lines were causes from the pads I would dis-assemble brake and see how, where on the pads cause that line? Could be the material from the pad that causes the noise and line appears on the rotor
