Red hot Temp gauge
It's been cold up here and lots of snow so i've been letting the X warm up for a few minutes. Well the other day I left it for about 5 minutes. When I came back out to go the temp. gauge was all the way over. Immediate panic!! Shut it off and waited for my heart rate to return to normal. Didn't sence anything overheated so I turned the key on without starting it to see where the gauge was. It was part way up the blue. WTF. It has now happened a few times goes to red then to blue if restarted. Also going in on Monday to fix intermittent blower. Thank you BMW for heated steering and seat. Any suggestions about the temp gauge?

The temp. guage is really a very clever idiot light. If it goes all the way over you have a problem. It could be in the guage circuit or with the engine overheating. As you are going to the dealer anyway they should be able to throw enough money at it to fix it.
