Coolant Temperature Gauge light out?

Its funny how you think you know something but then you are not sure. I believe that the blue area on my coolant temperature guage used to light up when I turn the dash lights on. Right now only the red one lights up. I have a 2004 4.4i. Can someone else confirm that when you turn your headlights on that the blue area lights up also? At night this area is completely dark in my X.

Can this be fixed with a simple bulb change?

My 2004 3.0i does the same thing. I don't believe the blue portion have a light at all. I often wonder why the blue portion totally wash out when the gauge light up at night...I guessed that's just the way it is

Thanks, I feel better now. I just got it back from the dealer for my first Inspection I service and I was kicking myself for not telling them about it.
