Anyone put E46 M3 wheels on the E53 X5???

Hello all !!!

I am pretty new to the site but have always been a BMW fanatic.
I just bought an 03 X5 3.0i and LOVE it! I've had 99 328i, 01 325Ci, 04 M3, 05 M3 and 5 E30 325i's and 325es...

So, since I declared my LOVE for BMW, I have a question.
I was thinking, would a set of 18's from an E46 M3 fit on the X5? Ofcourse I would have to buy the correct tires but I think the rims could work.
The offsets are 18X8 et40 and 18X9 et15.
Anyone try this before?

Thanks...

Won't work! The bolt pattern is different on the 3-series vs. the rest of the BMW line up!

What?

They both have the same bolt pattern, 5x120.

Only thing that may be a problem if offsets. I'd help you out, but don't know if they'd work or not.

The front wheels should work since the offsets are close. The rear offset is too low and would stick out too much .

The 19" CSL wheels fit fine but look small. See pic below with 19" CSL on X5. The is only a test fit by a member here from his M3 CSL wheels.

The wheels look small - but its also because the tires are too short. When you run a 295/40/19 you will get a much taller tire and it would make them look bigger.

You can order Rear 9.5" replica CSL wheels with a 3 series offset of 42mm and that would work.

You can go with the 295/40/19 all around setup. The Hamann setup in 19" is this. But they use a 10.5 rear and 9.5 front with a 295/40/19 all the way around.

I've got a set of BMW OEM staggered M3 18" rims I'm selling cheap. They're a bit curb rashed but the price is right.
