I use Thule load bars for the X5 rails, they fit well and attach easily. I use Thule bike carriers as well. Both Thule and Yakima make good racks, both have their fan base.

Look at the Thule link I gave you, above.

I use 58" Thule load bars, with Thule 450 attachment feet that fit very well on the BMW rails. You can then attach any Thule attachment you like to the Thule load bars. There are other Thule options, including attachments that bolt directly to the BMW load bars.

On the Thule site, choose the option called Rack your Car, and it will show you all the options.

If you do a search in this forum, you will find parts lists for others who have done this.

Good luck.

Did you ever get an answer for this issue? I have the same Bar system and have the Yakima Fatcat 6 snowboard carrier installed.

I can tell you how to do it..

I think I know exactly what you're looking for.
If you already have the Profile 2000 bars/rack system, then I would recommend the OEM snowboard carrier attachment that slides right into the grooves and screws right on top of the Profile 2000 bars. It only takes 5 minutes to put them on or to take them off.

Snowboard carrier/support attachment:
Part # 82 72 9 405 291

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...45&hg=82&fg=51

They are relatively inexpensive at about $65 a pair (check with site sponsor Morristown BMW). Each side/set holds 2 snowboards when they are stacked with bottoms of snowboards facing each other. If you buy 2 sets like I did, you can hold up to 4 snowboards. They are sleek carrier attachments with flexible, integrated straps to hold the snowboards snug. They even have a built-in lockable feature. Here's what they look like on my X with the Profile 2000 rack. I use them all the time when I go up to our local LA mountain or Mammoth Mountain every winter season. They work great for me!

Man..... Neither Thule or Yakima make any accessories that will Directly bolt on to the Profile 2000 system. I had to Mod the FatCat 6 to make it work.. Email me and I'll send ya some photos. Pretty simple mod.
