Sorry to ask, but how do you know it is torn? What happens when you drive?

I'm no mechanic, but I don't think it can be felt when driving. You have to park the car and turn the wheel all the way to one side or the other to determine if the boot is torn. At least that's the way it was with my Lexus ES.

There will be a mess of really sticky grease thrown all over the place in line with the tear.

Red face

Both my right front outer and Left front outer went at 70,000 and 72,000 miles. I saw the grease thrown everywhere and is how I knew. CPO paid for it at $50 a piece. The dealer said the price would be over $400 each for just the boot. What is next? CPO runs out in February.

I'm surprised that they replaced boots under CPO. I would have thought that would be considered wear and tear item
Good to know.
