Radio Pixels Missing (Not MID/Instrument)

I would really appreciate any help you may have on the issue with pixels missing on the non-DSP Business CD Radio. From a search of the forums I have found all the postings of issues and solutions from BMWNA regarding instrument cluster replacement for the cost labor only. Has anyone experienced this with the actual radio? Are there any other reasonable solutions?

Also with the factory Ipod your BMW kit has anyone noticed a faint but noticable "white noise" sound from the stock radio when playing the iPod (30GB Just puchased)? It seems to be related oddly enough to the iPod's backlight being on, the noise goes away when the light is on but is noticable when the backlight turns off. Thanks for your help.
