CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM - 2001 X5 3.0i

When I press the lock or unlock button in my x5 or using the remote, the drivers door sometimes doesn't do anything. All of the other doors lock and unlock as well as the gas door. It does work 85% of the time. Is there faulty wiring somewhere of does the lock need to be lubricated? Any suggestions? Thanks

I have a 2002, and mine is doing EXACTLY the same thing right now. I believe it is the actuator as well, as this is a common problem. It's always worse when it's cold outside. Definitely sucks having to use the key . I will wait to take to the dealer until I have something else that needs taken care of. Not worth the trip just for this.

That's because you unlock the driver's door the most! It's worn out!
