"sigh" cant decide. Mod or trade in
i would love to mod the hell out of it (facelift + rims + repaint) but is it worth it? or is it better just to trade it in for an 04-06 x or even 08 x5? perhaps someone here was once in the same situation i'm in now and could be of asistance. thanks in advance

I think I read the facelift will run you right around $5k.
The newer x would have some sort of warranty and maybe matinence. Did you buy your X about a year ago?

How much do you love your current E53? Test drive a E70 and decide whether you like it or not. It's changed quite a bit. I think your gut reaction will lead you to the right choice.
Newer isn't always better guys. I would buy a E46 over an E90 anyday.
