bmw x5 04 3.0d injection fault?????

i was out driving today in my x5 today when i pulled on to a dual carriageway i went pushed the throttle down to kick down and then power kicked in and died with the words fuel injection fault and 2 triangles either side displayed on the dash. i pulled the car to the hard shoulder switched off the car turned the key back on to make it to a nearby petrol garage and the car started and drove fine no loss of power or anything??????? but still with the words fuel injection fault displayed?? no engine management light on or signs of the car being in limp mode??? if anyone can help please do the car is just coming up to 90000miles on the clock with a full main dealer service. please any ideas?

Sorry,only just saw this.
First you need to get your car scanned/diagnosed,as a specific error code will point you in the right direction.A faulty fuel rail pressure sensor is a very common occurrence in the 3.0D!
