Today I went up to Mt. Charleston, which is only about 20 miles from Las Vegas. IT was quite a site, snow was coming down furiously. Snow covered Cactuses! I will post some pics when I get a chance.
However, I have a question about my brakes. When I was driving, I noticed that I had a very loud brake squeal. The brake squeal would begin from when I hit the brakes to when I stopped completely. I am not sure what is up with the brakes, but this squeal did not sound close to normal, IMO. I also noticed that after I came down the mountain, and was driving around Vegas, that my brakes would squeal a bit when I hit the brakes at 65 to about 80 mph. There would be a sharp squeal as I was slowing down, anywhere from 55 to about 35mph. At this point, the brake squeal did not last long, but seemed to break up in between. I had the dealership look at my brakes a while ago, and they said that they did not need to be changed. They said that I had about 50% left. However, it has been a couple of years since the brakes were changed. I havent driven it that much. 2002 with just 38,000 miles. Any suggestions on what I cn do to stop the brake squeal? Is this just brake dust, and this is normal? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
