When you are posting a message, if you scroll down below the area where you type your message content there is a table titled "Additional Options". In that area click on the button called "Manage Attachments" and you can add pics there. There are restrictions on how large of an image can be uploaded, so consider resizing them using a program such as irfanview before hand.

How do you actually imbed images into the message as opposed to having it come up as an attachment?

You host the image at some other website on the internet and while posting click on insert image and paste the URL of 'image' copied from the properties of image on another website.
