Headlights

I'm sending in the x5 to the dealership this thursday for some repairs and was wondering if they could program the rings around the headlights bulb to be on all the time. My headlight switch is always to auto and when the headlights aren't on the daytime running bulbs are on but the rings are not lit up. I have noticed on other bmw's the rings around the bulb are on all the time. So can it be programmed or something?

i don't believe so on the E53, i think it is only a feature of newer models. If you want them on all the time, you can set your mode from auto to the parking light mode (third click), and then switch it back to auto when you want headlights.. I know it is a pain but I am thinking that that is the only way to do it with the OEM angel eyes.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong though, I too would be curious on how to do this!

I think you mean wire them to come on with the DRLs.. It seems possible but why not just turn on the parking lights? does that cancel the DRLs?

I've noticed a lot of people who have only angel eyes on have done a parking light delete.
