Guys, Help me decide on Tints...

So I have decided to go with Madico Charcool Tints. Originally, I was going for the Huper Optik Ceramic tints but given that I live in nyc where its only hot for a few months, it just doesn't seem worth the money for window tints. I've been reading about the charcool tints and think its the best for my ride. I've come down to two choices:

1. 35% all around (except front windshield) OR

2. 50% front windows, 35% back windows and rear windshield (no front windshield tint) ?????

I'm leaning towards choice 1. Do you think choice 2 would look bad with that set-up??? What do you guys suggest I go with??? TIA

I'm having the tints done on my new 4.8is and will stick to my previous setup with was 35% tints on the front, which matches the tint from the standard BMW Sun Protection (Privacy Glass) option. 35% tints all round looks good without looking 'gansta'.

What color is your X5? How about the interior? How are NYC cops on tint?

I recently had 20% all the way around (except windshield of course). I have a black/black. I love the set up. Some people say that it is too dark. However, I have no problem driving at night. On really hot days, I will put up the back sun shades. It really makes a difference.

I can post some pics if you'd like.

I asked for 20% all around. It doesn't look too dark and I haven't had any issues.

I thought privacy glass/sun protection was 20%, not 35%

The privacy glass/sun protection on my Jeep GC is darker than the X5 and that was about 20%. I think that the X5 has 35%.

20% all around in VA? Where do you get your inspection done? But I bet it looks great.
I'm pretty sure privacy glass is 20% and not 35%.

I think it could depend on the color of your interior. black interior/ 35% tint looks like it has 20%.

But to stay on the topic I think 35% all around looks better. Check with your state tint laws unless you know someone who can inspected your ride with no issues.

I used 35% on my X5 to match the rear, but depending on the color of your vehicle and interior I might have a deferent preferences. I like lighter colored vehicles with a lighter shade of tent and darker colored vehicles with a darker tent. Is there any laws or regulations in New York on how vehicle owners can tent their windows. Go with 20% tint, it looks great.
