1st thing should be 20" wheels & tires. Preferrably the Style 87. They will transform your X5 into another vehicle............and the list goes on after that..........it becomes addictive and before you know it, you'll have more mods than Dennis Rodman has tattoos.

Good luck...........

Hey Chris, how do you like your Dinan tranny software? Was it worth the investment? What exactly does it do?

I think it was worth the investment. (I got 10% off both the engine & transmission software). In combo with the engine software, it is supposed to help with gas mileage, but I'm not 100% on that one. It shifts smoother and seems like it holds it that extra second to feel a bit sportier - especially in Sport & Manual shift mode. Wow - you can really tell a difference there. It's not huge in normal, but I think it was worth it. The Dinan website gives specifics on it for the 3.0i.
I'm impressed more with the Engine Software. I highly recommend it. I was going to do the Stage 3 and Throttle Body this year, but I ended up selling my X5 yesterday (Jan. 1). What a way to start off the year, eh?

I'm in the making the one of the best places to buy OEM BMW parts on the web, so i want to know from all of you X5 owners what you feel is the best OEM upgrades. I know all the ones for e38, e39, and e46's, but i don't for the X5's. My local dealership gives me great prices, so i just want to help other people out from getting shafted with BMW prices. I can only get parts that BMW sells and i just bought a SAT radio for $300 module, cables and the antenna, great price? Bluetooth modules for $325 10th Gen, also latest part # for TV module $670 and the whole setup 1K, So please can you tell me all the BEST OEM upgrades. About 2 months ago i bought the Areo kit for a X5 and they charged me $1300 for everything, 2 bumpers and the side skirts with the running boards, is that a good price?

Can tell you more about OEM mods if you give more details about your X5. What engine, packages, options, year, etc. M-steering wheel or Individual M wheel is a nice OEM mod, so is mahagony trim. If you can get mahaogony trim and M3 individual steering wheel at a good price, I am game for it.

I sorta liked the "textured storage tray" that replaced my ashtray. It was the perfect mod - effective, stealthy and cheap (less than $10 installed)! Same thing with the Bluetooth Upgrade Module (BTUM) that replaced the CPT9000 phone with a V60-shaped Bluetooth receiver. Sweet! I did the M5 steering wheel replacement in my 2002 4.4i and that was a cool mod. The ol' trailer hitch mod was a good one. And you can't beat 20" wheels. Or the XM satellite radio...or a hidden V1 install...

Hmmmmmm...so many mods so little time.

I wish i had a X5 too, but i drive an e38....

I DON'T drive X5, I drive a e38. I just want to know what are the best upgrades in you opinion that i can by at BMW. Only OEM like the running boards, grills, lighting; clear corners, taillights, side lights and ect. Can you put the newest taillights on all X5's? Do a lot of people do the face lifts on X5 or are the areo kits in demand? Would people like to upgrade the wood trim? If so do you buy aftermarket or OEM. I know all the goods on the audio, nav and video upgrades.

Clear euro front lights are good mod. You can put latest taillights on all X5s with some modification. Aero kits are not that much in demand. Trim change is not that difficult. Aftermarket or OEM depends on item.
