Busted fuel line?

Folks...please tell me this is another common recall.

As i was driving home last night, i noticed the computer said i had 31 miles to the tank, a few blocks before the engine shuts down on me.??? luckily i made it in to the gas station and attempt to put gas into my 4.4, i notice fuel leaking from the mid section of the car and i immediately stop and have the car towed home. i have no cpo warranty, however i never had a major problem with my x5 and usually take care of common problems myself, perhaps a busted fuel line might have came about from a bump i hit over 5 miles back?...or driving in sport the whole time...? ...i know the ses light also came on before to change the cam shaft positioning sensor, and not sure if that has anything to do with it but the light went away.

Mid section could be tank, fuel filter or fuel lines. I don't think the cam position sensor SES is related. You can move on to it once you get the fuel problem sorted out.
