Strange problems after replacing battery...
I was out of town over the long weekend when my alternator died on me! Left the X5 with Calgary BMW there since parts & service were closed. I told them I was visiting the city, hoping they would be able to help as I was stranded. Since everything was closed for the holidays I was hoping they could at least put me in a loaner until my truck was repaired. Only the sales mgr was there - told me he couldn't do anything and suggested I go rent a car! Now how's that for service??
Anyhow they replaced the battery & alternator which cost me over $1000! I had to go pick up the truck 4 days later. I think they fried my NAV computer because now I'm having some strange problems: NAV screen intermittently comes on and off MENU options keep appearing and disappearing every time I start the truck The SIRIUS option has disappeared although I can still listen to it NAV menu sometimes goes back to the old style orange screen. And to top it off, the vehicle asks for CODE to start engine! I have never set the code and last night it would not start. I kept putting my key in and out of the ignition and finally it started without the code. I tried to update the software but nothing happens! Anyone experience anything like this? Problem is how do I prove to the dealer (3hrs away) that they caused it?? They haven't even returned my calls! Last edited by King; 01-09-2007 at 11:03 AM. |
