Hi
if you buy the stock replacement sport suspension you're buying Bilstein shocks (it’s excellent quality) I have done 90.000Km with Bilstein sport suspension and I had no problem with it. You can look at http://www.kw-gmbh.de/ and http://www.bilstein.com/ Cheers Sorry but I’ve done a mystique, the self-levelling system will reduce the choice of the shocks. ( you can't use the KW with the self-levelling system)

I only had seen the HDs listed for my car on their site and nothing when I looked at Pelican Parts.
Any more help? |

Sooo, I'm the only guy with a 3.0L w/ a sport suspension who wants to replace the stock components with something similar?
I found some AC Schnitzer stuff on here but nothing current over on their site. Bilstein shows no Sport shock available for the X5 -- maybe I can call them directly. If I find something out, I guess I'll post and be the first. Odd. |

Direct replacements from BavAuto are $195/each for the rears and $235/each for the fronts. The rep said they should typically last 80-100k miles. Hope so ... I just have no baseline to compare it too, though I'm sure as stiff as it is, it's looser than it coul dhave been new.

Hi there,
Try it here http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/englisch/...u_e53_x5_e.pdf and here http://katalog.bilstein.de/ I know…. that’s the catalogue for Europe , but it’s probably the same part number in US. I personally think that changing the shocks after 46k miles is too soon….. That’s just my opinion… it really depends on your driving style and road conditions. Cheers

AC Schnitzer looks like it could work, I cguess I could order just their sport struts/shocks. Bilstein still shows the same deal:
BILSTEIN - B6 SPORT Gas Pressure, For vehicles without pneumatic suspension |

I don't think so!
![]() I'll stick with the stock stuff when the time comes, I suppose. Maybe the Eibach kit -- do you need a real MoDiTec to change the rear ride height, or is there an aftermarket way? |

I agree with you, $2600 for a suspension kit is a lot of money… even for an X5 owner…
![]() The AC Schnitzer suspension kit is probably made by Bilstein. Who knows?! ![]() When time comes, I advise you to buy the OEM sport shock absorber and if you want to lower your X5 you can always buy the H&R springs that will lower the ride height by 1.2 inch in front and 1.0 inch in rear. Yes, With air-suspension on RA. Just have a look at their US site; I’ve found it on the H&R European catalogue. If you’re searching OEM parts for your X5 you can find it here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do Cheers
