Trying to find the right one

Hello,

For the past year, I've been searching for a "diamond in the rough." The object of my affection would be either an '02 or '03 X5 3.0i with at least the premium and cold weather packages (gotta have heated seats). Grey or light gray exterior with a tan or gray interior. The dealer in town has an '02 with premium and rear climate (63k miles). It's listed at $26,995 USD. It's an CPO with about a year and a half left on the warranty. I'm sure I can negotiate the price down, but without heated seats (dealer says they can be installed for $850 USD) I thinking about walking. The mileage isn't too bad and the car looks nice, but what would be a good price for a similar vehicle in the southeastern US? Would I be better off finding a local private purchase and save the extra cash for repair costs? Any advice is most appreciated. It will only help get me into my dream car sooner. Thanks.
