Electrical Schematics?

Hi guys! So who has an electrical manual, access to one, or know how to obtain information as to the schematics on my 2004 X5?

I'm adding the heated steering wheel to my X and having no problems doing this mod. However when I went to add the relay to the top side of my fuse box behind the glove compartment I couldn't help but notice 3 additional empty spots for relays.

Top of fuse box behind the glove compartment.

A close up of the empty relay spots

Is one of these empty spots keeping the US spec X5's from being able to roll our windows up from the factory key fob?!

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I like knowing what every empty or blank spot was designed to do in my X5.

Before I added the relay for the heated steering wheel, there were 4 empty spots for relays. Now it is down to 3 empty spots! I've seen a picture of a Canadian X with a bigger relay in the empty spot shown on the left but I don't know what it does. I've never seen any pics of relays in the empty spots shown on the 2 top right empty spots.

Anyone know the answer to this or know a way to finding out?!

I'm not saying that my X5 is all that but I originally thought that the 4.8is came with every option!

I have a 2004 4.8is and I found out real quick that it doesn't have every option, hence the current install project of the heated steering wheel.

What are other possible factory features that my US spec X is missing? ie. rear fog light (which I'm working on adding), TV tuner option, forward and reverse camera, etc. I'm asking about features that may not be offered here in the states as well, so not just the stuff that applies to US X5's but rather all X5's! Hope this makes sense.

Duh! Didn't read your post right!
There are many options for many countries. In some cases the equipment is not even fitted (e.g. Self leveling for halogen headlights in the US market.) You would need to gain access to the options lists for each country so you could do a comparison.

Yeah, I figured I originally wasn't very clear on my questions, sorry about that

Here's my situation. I consider myself somewhat a "car guy" and to a certain extend, I like to add mods to my X, probably just like everyone else here. In my experience, the mods that aren't aftermarket last longer don't interfere with other components which makes for a cleaner easier install and can sometimes add to the value of the vehicle. Of course sometimes it is not the cheapest way to go or the best quality but I still like to consider factory type set-ups first.

For example, you mention that auto leveling headlights are for the US market only. Man, if I was in another market and had an X that didn't have this feature, I'd be looking into how to add this to my vehicle! I appreciate some of the articles on the homepage on installs of some of these types of options.

I'm still looking for options that I don't now about! Is it possible that I know them all? haha, could be, but I kind of doubt it. The X5 has so many features and options that aren't listed.

I'll tell you guys that I just learned from the previous post that the auto leveling headlights are only for US market, if that is in fact true. Lets hear some more! Also, anyone on the schematics? Thought that would be one way to finding out some of the answers to what I don't have.
