IS the dealer doing your wheel arches or a Body shop?

The dealer is. The manual says 2 hrs but they quoted me 3.

Wheels, Tires and wheel arches were $4800.00. I got a discount through a friend and better tires for the snow than BMW offers.

Two reasons actually.

First, they are necessary to be legal. Would a cop ticket me? Probably not but I don't want to find out.

Second, with the wheel arches not installed the wider tires spray muddy water ALL OVER the side of my X. After only going up to the mountains once (the roads were bare and wet with a little sand) it looked as though I had given my car a mud bath from the door handle down.

I am not sure of the part number but I know that, that is not it. The wheel arch retro fit kit is $900.00 from the dealer ($810.00 with BMW Car Club discount). They extend the existing plastic arches with completly new pieces. To see what they look like on, simply look at a 4.8is, they come pre-installed. Someone else has asked for pics of them not on the car so I will be taking pictures tonight or at lunch today and posting them.

Do you have any pics of your X with the 177s on?

Agreed. I wanted white but there were none in stock with the opts I wanted and none in the pipeline. Still love black though.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted pics, I kinda liked having wheels on that not many others have. Now that you all have seen how good they look...

Oh well.

Don't worry. That's lot of money to drop on wheel and tire packages. Prob most people will wish for them but I doubt most will spend the cash to get them. I would love to but I don't want to find myself in divorce court
