X5 - Garmin SP 7500

Finally clean up the wire and completing the installation of Garmin SP 7500. And the video input from DVD is now connect to it. The audio is either RF or AUX into the radio (behind the foot console).
The headrest monitors are Vizualogic A1000 DUAL DVD (for the kids)...
BTW> The headrest came yesterday.

This is sharp for all the Xers that came without Nav. Should I do this, or the $3500 retro-fit oem that isnt touch-screen? Dont let the haterz get you down; remember, when you get rid of the X, the Garmin comes out.....

My reason, at the time or ordering my X, for not getting the Nav was the thing about "cassette player" and not having a "cd player" in the front. I don't buy or listen to cassette tape for over 10 years since CD, DAT, and MD came out. And now we listen to MP3 and IPOD.
The factory Nav is sure look nice but I reason the ability to communicate with my GPS and be able to port it for other vehicle. Large screen is a must for me as my eye are not as good anymore. The touch screen interface is a feature that everything these day should incorporate. It's much faster than using keystroke or joystick (like when entering address/destination). Voice activate stuffs still have to catch up (some GPS unit has this feature). It usage is still limit to its vocabulary as we sometime don't say "what we need" correctly all the time - it doesn't read mind, yet.
As far as spending 3500, if I want it to look like stock, yes.
But if you want more feature set, high tech, and some fun getting integrate, then it would be wise to go with Garmin or many other GPS out there.
