OBC radio station display
Sorry if this has been discussed before (I couldn't find anything by searching). When I change station presets, CDs, songs, etc. for a brief period of time I get a display of relevant information (ie: station, track number, etc) on "Indicator for Check Control" part of the OBC. My question is: is there a way to make that "stick"? When in the PROG menu for the mode selector button I see options like clock, distance, limit, etc., but nothing for the radio. I would like to be able to go into the "radio" mode where station name type info would be permanently displayed (instead of clock, or distance for example). Thanks Igor |

Do you have Nav or not? Have you noticed a variation in time of display between radio stations? You're only gonna get what RDS sends out. Try a few different stations and note how long the title, artist, etc displays and how often it cycles over and over.

clarification
i do have a nav, however my problem is not with what is displayed, but how long it is displayed for.
for example my obc text line is set to display time, i change a station (preset) and it is showing it to me (for example 106.7, the information displayed in obc is the same as in nav, so i'm fine with the level of detail), then a few seconds later it reverts back to displaying time. what i would like to happen is for that line to display 106.7 (or any other radio information just like, or even less info than, nav screen when on the same station). another example would be, let's say i'm on cd 4 track one, when i switch there both nav and the obc show 4-01, however a few seconds later that info is gone from the obc, i would like it to remain thanks |

I understand you better now. I have never tweaked with those setting on the X5. It might be something the local dealer may have to code for you.
Hopefully someone else will chime in, where is elduderino when you need him? JV

Igord, I have also been wondering the same thing, so if anyone knows how to make the display show the cd track for a longer period I am also interested.

I have the 16:9 screen with DSP and MkIV Nav. When I'm not in Nav mode CD tracks and RDS info displays constantly, with the time and date at the very bottom.

thanks for the info, i have the same setup, but I actually want the info in the OBC (where it displays briefly) not on the nav screen. Some of the reasons include the fact that i turn the nav screen off and that i don't want to switch back and forth just to get the song/station info. |
