Angry Trade in value

I test drove the E70 4.8i today, did not order it, since I was offered $13000, for my 2001 4.4i (81000 miles) as a trade in.

I told the sale representitive, no deal till after I sell the E53. no Trade in.

No Way!!
Take a look at the Carmax site. There are two 01 X5s in their inventory.
3.0 with 89K mi. for 21,998
4.4 with 76K mi. for 23,998

I sold several cars to Carmax and they marked them up about 4K for resale. If your X5 is in good condition you could get 19K cash just selling to them.

Tell the dealer

Dealers never give you a good price.
Private sale for yours if you have the time.
Good luck.

You can go a few ways here. Carmax is a decent option. No bs, no hastle. In my experience with them they do offer a fair price. Your other option is to sell the car yourself. Autotrader.com is one way to go or Cars.com. With these options you make make a few thousand more and may be worth your time.

Ebay is there too, but in my experience unless you want near the wholesale price this is not the way to go.

If you are going to sell it to a private individual I would spend a few bucks making sure everything is fixed and perfect including the windshield chip and any door dings or scratches.

Talking

well, I visited the dealership in Grand Blanc, Michigan(it is a BMW and MB dealership) where I got My E55 AMG.

They offered me the new E70 4.8 $2500 below the MSRP, and I was shocked when the salesperson said that he is offering me big $$$$ for the trade in, even he said the trade in value is not final since he going to call someone who buys those cars and send them overseas, I will let you know about the final trade in value once confirmed.

I recomend Grand Blanc (BMW, MB, and Toyota)
