Humming from air condition

Does anyone have a type of humming noise coming from the air condition motor. You reall only here it when you are at a light or ideling. It seems to be coming from right behind the radio but stops if you turn off the fan.The dealer said the noise is normal but hard for me to believe. You really hear it if you close the air vents for the back seats.

yea i know exaclty what you mean. A lot of time when i start the engine and the Climate Control turns on automatically, I can hear that humming noise. It dosnt sound normal to me, but i think it goes away one you start driving. I just turn the music up

noise

Whining noise from the AC could sometimes mean that the belt is slightly loose and needs to be retensioned.

I had the same type of noise from my a/c blower. It was a bad bearing in the blower motor. It made a slight noise when the blower was working but went away if you turned it off. The service rep said it was normal, but it wasn't. We insisted he go for a ride to hear it. He did, and then agreed it was not normal. The noise started 2 months after we bought the X new in Aug. '06. If yours does the same, have your tech check it out.
