Question Need Dinan CAI Instructions

I bought a used Dinan CAI which did not come with instructions. While it is not the most complex of installations I would like to get a copy of the instructions. Are they available as a PDF anywhere? If not does anyone have them that they can scan or send me a photo copy??

Also, the CAI has a flexible black 3 inch wide metal pipe included. It goes to a hole beneath the hole for the air filter. I am guessing this connects to the OEM air intake scoop above the radiator. Is this stock Dinan? I have a picute of a Dinan CAI and this does not show on this picture?

Appreciate the help!

from those pics it looks like the dinan intake uses a dry cotton filter...that or they use clear oil for it.

My Gruppe M intake came with an additional hose as well built to run down below the bumper I tested it with and without said pipe and elected to leave it off as it offered no difference in performance

Did you call Dinan, maybe they can send you some instructions or at least give you an idea over the phone.

I sent Dinan an email. Not sure how their customer service is.

I am thinking that my Dinan CAI has been modified. No where on any of the pictures do I see a tube/pipe going from the OEM air intake scoop into the Dinan CAI. I guess I can either try to return the CAI, use it as modified or return it to original.

If I do try and return it to original, I could get some sheet metal and pop rivet the hole closed then either powder coat or paint it.

If Dinan does not come through with the instructions hopefully someone on here can help me out!

Do you have Autoscope or an individual mech there to help?

Ummmm.... forgive my ignorance but what is an Autoscope? No true mechanic.... just me! I do have a kickass Craftsman tool set thought!!!

I was going to do the install yesterday but the previous owner of the CAI had used sound insulation on it. I want a bit of feedback for the CAI so I spent a few hours removing the insulation and wiping it clean with rubbing alcohol.

Then the additional pipe that goes to the OEM air intake scoop threw me off a bit. If no one comes up with instructions I am sure I can figure it out but I would just like to see them....

There are other facilities beside BMW that sell Dinan. We have Autoscope in Dallas.
I thought you might get help that way.

I just installed the DINAN CAI and throttle body into my 2001 4.4 and it took about 2 hours for everything. The hardest part was reconnecting the MAF to the throttle body air tube.

I have the instructions safe at home but if you have a specific question, I would be glad to help out.

The instructions say to remove the factory air tube that comes out of the under hood air scoop. This part is not used with the CAI.

Cheers Eric
