very interested in the topic.

although it is not clear why the picture shows red and white cables (audio left and right) when as far as i know you can only get mono sound from the tuner

2. sorry for a stupid question, but i better ask to be sure: on the RCA cable shown in the picture, ground is the outer ring, not the midlle pin?

You are correct 100% the tuner only work in mono sound, but I used these 3 cables
1 the red cable I used it for my camera AV IN because I didn’t have another yellow
2 the other 2cables the white and yellow I used for the DVD.
I hoop its clear to you now

Yes I do Agree the back of x5 gets very dirty, the camera I go is from china its NTSC with night vision and weather resistance, the only thing you need to do clean the lens if it get dirty , for DIY manual with pics I don’t think there is one specially for the white connector in the TV tuner , but what you need to do get 2 cables with pins like the one in the pic down from any old computer , to create pin13 and 14 then connect them to the reveres camera AV, For the power supplay going to the camera. in the forum you will find the way to connect the power to the camera and look for NCX Articles his the master , for the DVD Cables you need to shave some of the cable insulation and join the 2 cables together to the corrct pins .
good luck
