Check for posts by member 'motordavid' - he has posted very comprehensive and very useful information on aftermarket warranties.

The short answer is that based on experience from other members that Warranty Direct seems to be the lead after market warranty contender

But warranty direct is like $4.2k for another 2 year or 50k miles warranty for my 2004 X5 4.4. which is like $2K+ per year. this means unless your Transmission breaks down or blow out your motor within that 2 years, you are for sure on the lost side.

given that I only drive my X about 8K miles per year. I think I am 99% on the lost side.

I have Mercury Select and I am quite happy with them. Mine cost $2,100.

I have an 03 3.oL with 46000 miles. Just purchased the Warranty Direct Primere Policy including emmissions sytems. Covers 4 yrs and 100,000 miles. With a $100 deductible the cost was $2,850.

I did lots of research including BMW warranty. This looks to be the best and the price is right.

Good Deal Dunno it's it's a regional thang or just because it's a 3.0, but my policy purchased just before '07 on my '03 4.4 came out to about 5 bills above that including the emissions. I'm not too far from you as well - NYC....
