Quick questions, servce interval and auto headlights

Does anyone know if the service interval monitor on a 2004 X5 is reprogramable by the dealer? I am about to hit 50K and loose my maintenance program, it would be great if this could be reprogramed to 7500 miles vs the factory 15K. i do the oil at 7500 anyway??

What source controls the automatic headlight on/off. My headlights are starting to come on automatically at 3:00 in the afternoon on a sunny day. Is this tied into the computer or where is the "eye" that reads daylight, maybe its getting blocked somehow?

Thanks...

Q. 1. No
Q. 2. Sounds like you need to visit the dealer as they are the only ones who can adjust this. It might even need a new sensor.

Sensor is part of the rain sensor in the mirror mount.
