tetonguy is on a distinguished road
First trip results.....

Back from my 14 day, 3571 miles road trip. From Jackson, Wyoming to Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore, Kansas City and St. Louis.

1. Gas mileage averaged 22-24mpg with 3 adults and gear on board. Used about 1/2 quart of oil.

2. Several heavy rain storms caused the flaky rear hatch latch to act up. Obviously this has been overengineered wrt function and under-enginerred wrt durability. How hard is it to waterproof a switch?......sheeese my 1990 Toyota had an electric rear window which never failed in any weather condition......can't believe the idiots at Lucas are still in business,(as a former owner of two MG's I am qualified to make this statement) ...must be a euro nationalized/imbedded money waster similar to our GM.

3. Drivers seat lumbar air seems to be leaking. It pumps up ok but is flat about 15 minutes later. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it made by Lucas?

4. Found it to be pretty easy as a left handed person to get the gas cap leash caught under the cap when putting it on. Annoying but I can live with it.

5. Drivers side winshield wiper ( a new non OEM blade) kept becoming mistracked wrt the black clip which is supposed to hold the lower 1/4 of it on the windshield......what up wit dat?

6. Passes other traffic with ease in all conditions......yum I love to have the power there when I need it.

7. Rear passenger lock doesn't open fully when opened with the key remote. Can I oil this?

8. New brakes recommended on this board worked great- brake dust is virtually zero now. Thanks to all who posted this info.

9. Cruise control software gets a top rating. Much better than many other systems I have owned.

Hope all this helps/angers or just makes some more of us think.....

Next up a summer of towing the boat........
