X5 Hood Medallion

Just purchased a used 2003 X5 and recently noticed the hood medallion has lost it's coloring. This has just happened and I can see the embossings and outlines of where the colors used to be placed.

Has anyone else experienced degradation of the hood medallion??

i know the silver trim of the bmw roundel on my steering wheel is tarnished...

you can always purchase the aluminum covers and place over it. or pay a little more and get the genuine thing

Don't know if its the cold or snow but just noticed mine is peeling off too...the black, blue and white.....
Maybe its the contaminated water of Jersey!

Mine is fine...but on my summer car, a 9-3 convertible , I brang the car to the dealer, and when it came back the badge on the hood was gone
I guess the glue european car makers use isn't suited to our acid rain here..
