X5 Catalytic Converters. Problems?
Out of the searching I have done, it doesn't seem like many people have problems with the cat's failing. Is this just my bad research, or is that true. I will be getting an X5 soon, and want to look out for this if it is a problem. I don't want to get a car and have a $1500+ problem in 20,000 miles.
Thanks in advance |

It isn't a problem I have heard of or read about on several boards. When catalytic converters do fail it is often a consequence of another problem, such as over-fueling.
Not sure how old an X5 you are looking at, but it would be prudent to consider an extended warranty. BMW parts are not cheap, generally speaking.
