It's Days like this - Rear Fog Lights

On Nasty days like this on the Northeast, it much of a diff. lighting wise goes from a safety perspective. I was behind for a good part of my route and I could clearly see him whether from 1 car away to even 10 cars away due to the *higher intensity* of the rear fogs he had on.....

This shall be on the next Mod list for sure !

Most european car have rear fog lights why is it that the X5 does not?

Do BMW's that are made outside the US come with them?

So I imagine you (aka us US spec people) can just switch out the light switch and add some bulbs to the rear panels. What about the dash indicator?

I only wish it was that easy, I wrote one of the articles about fitting the rear fog lights to a US spec X5, it was quite a challenge. But it is a great safety feature and I never understand why BMW takes the effort to not fit them as it does for the rest of the world.I am sure they are fitted to Canandian vehicles but not sure. regards avonside

Yeah I need to do this on my E53. On my E38 instead of doing the rear foglight I ended up using it as quad brake lights.

They are not fitted to Canadian vehicles, we get the same lighting as the US spec. Canadian differences are km/hr, degrees C, and different base build and options (ie cold weather package is often included, etc)

I had rear fogs on my '86 Volvo, and miss them. Several European vehicles do have rear fogs in Canada, but not BMW.
