Unhappy Warranty Direct...no More!

Hi guys,

Just came from the Warranty Direct website and tried to get a quote and it wouldn't let me. They said, they currently don't offer warranty for now. I even chatted with an online customer service rep and he still said his hands are tied. he doesn't know when they will start offering services for BMW X5s again.

My warranty is running out first week of april. So besides BMW, do you guys have any suggestions with another third party company?

I will get BMW Maintenance Warranty but I definitely will get Extended Warranty from a Third Party Company since BMW rates and length of term isn't acceptable.

Please advice!

I thought that I read somewhere that there were some issues related to getting WD coverage in California - mileage related limits?

They'll continue to have coverage since they have a legal contract with WD.

maybe the transmission issues are catching up with them. I wish BMW would address this.

Unless they go belly up, like 1Source Warranty did. I had a 1Source Warranty on my son's Explorer. Fortunately, I sold the Explorer before 1Source went into chapter proceedings. I would never consider buying an aftermarket warranty again because of this. Even though factory extended warranties are usually more expensive, at least you have the peace of mind that BMW will probably not be going out of business any time soon...

Like the OP, I felt the same concern. BMW's warranty is next to useless for what you pay..you have 2yrs to go through 100k. What good is that?

Quicksilver will become famous soon enoughQuicksilver will become famous soon enough
Depends on what happens during that 2 years. Looking at some of the things people have been complaining about around here maybe it might help.
