is this a good price for extended warranty coverage?

So I called around and had found a dealership down south who had extended my original owner warranty to 5/yr 100,000mi for $3,375. Do you guys think this is a good price?

I highly recommend Mercury Select. I pay about $2,300 for the Platinum plan and they have been nice enough to pay for a new CV joint with zero hastle.

after talking to my CSR (who I know pretty well) he, along with other folks, have recommended going with BMW to extend the warranty simply b/c it's less hassle - just drop it off like i do now and they take care of the rest. I don't mind paying a little extra for going to the source.

P.S. Mercury Select does not offer warranty in CA

If that is the price for the BMW Original Owner Protection Plan warranty then I'd say that is NOT a good price. Unless something changed in the last year or so the MSRP was less than that at $3249. Dealer cost is $2499.

I would shop around more. Call Morristown and Crevier. I got mine from Crevier and promised them I wouldn't tell how much I paid but I will say I got it for less than MSRP.

I would get this warranty if you can. The 3rd party products can be good and especially so for second and third owners who cannot get the BMW warranty. I have been very pleased with my BMW extended warranty so far.

This is BMW Original Owner Protection program. I jumped on it b/c BMW of San Fran quoted over $4K!!! A lot of others were roughly $400 less give or take, that's why I jumped on this one. I don't want a 3rd party warranty as speaking to my CSR, they paint you a totally different picture BEFORE you buy than the one you see when you need THEM. Plus, A LOT of 3rd party warranty companies (WD, etc) are not offered in CA, and even if/when they will be, similar coverage as I got would cost upwards of $4K.

Sorry. I thought that you were looking to buy and not post-purchase. At least you're covered and you will be pleased with the BMW warranty. Just remember it's $50 PER VISIT so try knock out a few things each time.

Dyg,
Congrats on getting the Beast covered...
remember it is CPO-like in coverage and not quite as
extensive as the orig Warr/Maint coverage.

And, use it: it goes away in 24 months.
