Steering wheel replacement

Hi all! Just found a new style of sports version steering wheel which is for facelifted e53 x5. My car is 2001 made x5 4.4i sports package. Just wonder if I can replace my original steering wheel with this new one and, if yes, is it plug and play?. Please see below link for the new steering wheel:

Thanks for help!

yes, you can replace your current one with the 2004+. and it is plug and play

it's basically the same as this http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/i...003-style.html

It should work but the problem, at least here in North America, is how the airbag is shipped because of its pyrotechnic content.

If I were you I would opt for the M Sport version if I was going to change steering wheels. Actually, that is what I did.

Thanks! But the most important is the air bag module, it cost a lot. It means nothing without the air bag module.
By the way, does anyone know how to take off the old steering wheel for replacement? Thanks!
