Brake Lining Light?

I just replaced my break pads for an 01 X5. I used the censor that was all ready in there because it looked OK. Now the light is still on. I tried reseting with the post that is on X5world but no go. Does anyone know what I should do next? Do I buy a new brake censor?

Thanks

You need a new sensor only if the light came on before you changed the brake pads. It is a one-time-use sensor.

Did you replace just the front or the back pads? I ask because you use the singular "sensor" instead of the plural "sensors". If so, perhaps the other sensor tripped.
