I believe 3 serie, 5 serie and X (2000-2003) mirrors are the same. I recently replaced the one on my X which was pretty basic with only the alarm clown noose with a compass autodimming and alarm one coming from a 325. Pretty much plug and play. Got it on e-bay for $120
