Gas FUEL LEAK when filling

Problem:
I noticed this evening at the service station that gas was leaking out just in front of my rear passenger tire while I was filling up. I would say up to a pint flowed out per the 19 gallons I pumped.

Note:
My service engine light threw P0456 (small EVAP leak) exactly two weeks ago. I filled with gas that morning, and didn't notice anything. I cleared it 200 miles later the next day, replaced the gas cap with a new one, and no codes have appeared since (I have driven it another 200 miles).

Before I tear into it and report back, any thoughts from the forum are appreciated.

Hi,
I know this is an older thread but:
I have the same problem, did you find out what the cause of the leak was, if so, what was it ??

Thank you

never solved it. i think i must have had the handle in wrong or something. seen it happen only once or twice since. i don't think it was related to the problem code either (think that one was solved with a new gas cap if i remember right).

If you're leaking during every fill up I would inspect the fuel tank filler pipe (part 15 in the below diagram). If it is damaged fuel can leak during filling. I have new ones available HERE.
