I'm now 1 of you all....

well, it finally happened, i had a window regulator go bad. of
course, it happens now that i am out of warranty. good news
is, it's now fixed, $415 later. oh wait, how is that good news?
$250 for the part? really? are u serious? on top of that,
it was another $160 for labor? labor? i removed the f'n door panel
and the foam for u f***'s. if i wasn't so worried it raining or
breaking something else during the repair, i would've done it
myself.

what pisses me off the most is, i believe i did 90% of the labor already
by removing the door panel and foam insulation. it baffles me where
they got $165 for labor from. maybe they charged me $$ to spray the
X5 down w/ water; even though, i just washed it sunday.

Welcome to the club! The DIY article here is real thorough if you ever have another one go out on you. That $$ at the $tealer stings, don't it?

You got robbed on that window regulator - it should have been at least half of that.

Edit: unless they also replaced the motor that is attached to the regulator. I thought I had a bad regulator and ended up having to replace the window motor. They may have gone ahead and replaced both since they were in there.

Which window was it??

i left the receipt in the X. i'll have to go check it out, but i'm pretty
sure all they replaced was the window regulator. it was the front
driver's side window.

I got mine on eBay for around $110, but this is the site where I bought the motor - $142 with free shipping.
