Soon to be X5 owner, would like some help

Hi, i am new to this forum (not forums in general) and would just like some input as to what I should look for in the X5 (common issues, etc. whatever you can think of) that I am most likely going to purchase. specs:
2003 X5 V8 4.4i
mileage: 32000 KM yeh pretty low
price we came to an agreement of $42500 CDN which i think is fair because I have been searching around for a while and never did i come accross a price like this for a V8 with low mileage.

anyways, yeh any input as to what i should make sure to check before i pick it up to go is appreciated.
thanks in advance

Price seems fine for a 2003. The 4.4 isn't worth that much more due to people's concerns about fuel economy, it is not as good as the 3.0. A loaded 3.0 will be close to that price , possibly a few thousand less, but the low km is a plus.

Is it out of warranty yet? It could have a few months left.

Do you have maintenance records? It originally had 3 year scheduled maintenance, which is just oil changes and brake fluid. Worth checking that the brake fluid was changed every two years.

Apart from that, is there any used warranty? You don't say if it is a dealer or not. There is no extended BMW warranty available in Canada, so it is a case of aftermarket or dealer used car warranties if anything.

Good luck with it, and welcome to X5 World. Check the home page for articles that should be a great help in understanding the vehicle.

Jeff

thanks for the fast replies, it has waaranty untill 2009 or 160K, records show it went for a 20000km maintenance check (includes filters, brake fluid, oil change) also 3 regular oil changes, last one made in april 2006 at 28K. it is BMW certified and sales guy told me I would need to bring it in at around 40K for a $1200 maintenance service. other then that it seems like it has a lot of options like heated steering, climatronic, sunroof, heated seats, only 1cd in dash though, interior black leather in very good condition, exterioir steel grey. no nav

This is a CPO vehicle from BMW correct?
If so, get them to include the extended maintenance program.
